Phil, the owner and manager, was polite and helpful. The room was clean, with a king-size bed, fresh linen and a clean private en-suite bathroom. I left before breakfast, so I can’t comment on the food. I was disappointed by the area nearby, with a lot of industry close by. My room was hot at night, so I had to leave the windows open, but the road was noisy and woke me at least four times. A mini fridge for keeping drinks or food cold would be useful. For those reasons, I wouldn’t choose the same room again.

We had a fab family stay to celebrate a 50th, and there were lovely animals on site too. We had a two-bedroom cottage with a double and two bunks in each room, a big living area and kitchen, plus an accessible wet room. There was also a nice patio with an eating area. Another family member stayed in a two-storey building with two bedrooms and a private garden.

The room was very clean, with a lovely ensuite bathroom, and the reception lady gave me a warm welcome. The outdoor-lit parking area also seemed super safe. But I’d never book a room here again in summer. It was stiflingly hot in the upstairs bedroom, so I opened the windows and could hear all the traffic rumbling past. The ladies in the room over the landing were chatting loudly, and I decided to leave. I’m sure it could be lovely at any other time of year.

They made us feel very welcome, and it’s an ideal spot for mountain biking, about a 25-minute drive from Afan. The trails were all open and great. Had a great stay.

We had a lovely stay in one of the self-catering cottages. It had a good-sized kitchen, a shower room and very comfy beds. Phil, the owner, was brilliant and welcomed us with a lovely little box of bread, jams and Welsh cakes. He also came to our rescue when we got a flat tyre.
