Premier Inn Portsmouth North Harbour

Claire at reception was cheerful and very pleasant. She took the time to find a room that suited our needs, and those human touches make a real difference. The Beefeater is being renovated. Our only complaints were that service was a little slow, though it was a busy Friday, and breakfast wasn’t very hot.

The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, which was a bright spot. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you have better options. It’s very old, and the Wi-Fi was terrible, even after I paid an extra £5 for the premium service. I had to move around the room just to get a signal. You take decent Wi-Fi for granted these days, and I can’t remember the last hotel where it was this bad. Breakfast at the Beefeater next door wasn’t worth the money either.

There are two Premier Inns here with identical postcodes, one high rise and the other only two floors. We went to the wrong one, so make sure you’ve found the right hotel before paying for parking. Luckily, we moved to the nicer two floor one, with a Beefeater next door. The receptionist was very helpful with bus routes and times to The Hard. Our room was large, clean and quiet, with a great shower. I’d stay here again.
