Check-in was at a different hotel, which caught me off guard and felt awkward after a long journey. The staff here were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was spot on, just a short walk from Gunwharf Quays for exploring or shopping. The bathroom really let the stay down. It badly needs updating: some parts were mouldy, the plastic seals and trim were brown and cracked, and the whole room felt unclean. That was a jarring contrast with the clean bedroom. A decent stay with a good room and great staff, but the bathroom needs sorting.

Had cider and their really tasty sweet and sour chicken with rice and peas at lunchtime. It was about £15 altogether, and the food was delicious. The three women working were lovely to chat with, and the lad in the kitchen seemed nice too, as did the local fellas who came in. If I lived in Pompey, this would definitely be a regular pub for me. I'm in the area fairly often, so I'll be back. Thanks, and keep it up.

Whenever we're visiting Gunwhalf quay, we come here for lunch. The beer's good, and the food is amazing. Their daily roast comes with a choice of three meats and three portion sizes. Honest, homemade food at a great price. Two of us paid £34 with two rounds of drinks.

Friendly, small and comfortable local pub, right across from Portsmouth The Hard. The food is great and reasonably priced, and they serve traditional roasts every day.
