Tudor Lodge - Redcar Beach

You get what you pay for, and the place doesn't pretend to be anything else. The room was basic but clean and tidy, with a basin, kettle, and TV. There was no tea or coffee, though I had some with me since I was camping elsewhere. I slept right through and didn't hear much noise, even with my room beside the shared bathroom. It was clean enough, though having to share one concerned me a bit. The beach is really close. I wish the area could attract more investment, but I can hardly fault tudor lodge for that.

The location was good, but the room wasn't great. At check-in, it felt like I wasn't meant to be there. The door wouldn't lock from either inside or outside, and nobody was around when I tried to check out.

Clean room and bathroom, though the bathroom was shared. The place is central in Redcar and good if you're on a budget. There was only a kettle and cups in the room, and everything seemed to hold onto a smell of Febreze, smoke, and student accommodation.

We couldn't get anyone to let us into the TUDOR Lodge, even though we'd booked and paid for two nights. When we arrived there was nobody there; we waited, tried the door, left, then came back a short while later. A young man was sitting outside on a bench, but said he couldn't let us in. He opened the entrance and told us nobody was there and he couldn't admit us. OYO, who we'd booked through, couldn't get hold of anyone either. With my young autistic son getting upset and needing the toilet, we had no choice but to find another hotel, which cost a lot more. We're now trying to get a full refund. Very, very poor service. We'd never use this hotel or OYO again.
