Every member of staff, owners included, was kind, attentive and so helpful. They'd go out of their way to deal with any request, nothing seemed too much trouble. My time at the consort hotel was happy and comfortable, and such a positive experience. Sincere thanks and my very best wishes to you all.

The room was lovely, with an excellent bathroom, and the hotel felt cosy and inviting. A very kind and helpful asian man at the front desk went above and beyond with my requests. It's in need of a slight update, but good value. I'd definitely return.

I was placed here by the council with my two girls, aged 7/9, while I'm homeless rn. I'd heard it was getting a bad rap as a homeless hotel and expected the worst, but we were very happy with it. It's not freshly fitted with all new things, but it's clean and well kept, and I'd certainly stay again. I've paid over 500per night elsewhere and stayed in rooms for 40per night, and I was more than happy with the standard and the staff. I was glad for my children to stay there too. Everything we needed was present and working: AC, hot water, clean white bedding, fresh towels and no strange smells. The room was warm, and the TV channels all worked. There was a kettle with everything for making tea or coffee, a working hair dryer and nice new night lights with soft or bright white settings. The staff were super friendly. In a time when I genuinely needed somewhere, I give the place a 10/10 and can't thank them enough for the hospitality and welcome xx

There were several worrying problems in the room, and staff showed little or no interest when I raised them. The bathroom panels were damaged with jagged edges, the towel radiator had exposed wiring, and the shower screen had a big gap at the bottom, letting water cover the tiled floor. My son slipped on it and was distressed, though fortunately he was okay. The bathroom fan was clogged with dirt, there were cobwebs on the ceiling, and the room had unfinished work and poor workmanship. On our last day I checked the mattresses and found them covered in sweat and urine stains, which was very upsetting. Conditions were putrid, so although breakfast was paid for, we had no confidence going downstairs and ate elsewhere. At check-in, the receptionist incorrectly said breakfast wasn't included. He said Agoda often gets things wrong and its information doesn't match their system, asked to see my phone and take a screenshot, and said he would follow it up. Ten minutes later he agreed to let us have breakfast, even though we'd already paid. We were also given one large bath towel and some very small ones, not enough for me, my husband and our two four-year-old toddlers. All the windows were open when we entered, with the radiators turned fully up. The main room radiator had no knobs to adjust it. A friend of the owner came to help but brought the wrong fittings, then used pliers to turn it off. After that, we couldn't adjust the radiators at all, even if we'd wanted to. The TV remote was also the wrong one, and another never arrived before we left.
