We were six people out for Wednesday pie night, but hadn't realised pies needed to be preordered, and they had sold out by 7pm. There were plenty of other choices, though, and we all enjoyed our meals. The waitress was lovely, the pudding was divine, and everything was very reasonably priced. Thank you.

The service was quick and efficient, and everyone working there was friendly and attentive. Agi poured a lovely pint with a smile and some friendly banter, and the beer was kept really well. The food was just as good. I had the goats cheese croquettes and honey glazed chicken wings as I wanted something light, and both were delicious. My husband enjoyed his rump steak with peppercorn sauce and said it was tasty and good quality. His After Eight Mint Cheesecake was smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of mint and a firm biscuit base. I had the warm dark chocolate, pear and walnut brioche pudding with pouring cream, though ice cream or custard were options too. It was so good that he didn't even get a mouthful.

We met my partner's family there for a few drinks on a Saturday. It was a nice first visit, with a cosy atmosphere, good service and a nice pint of Pedigree. The staff were smiley, and the pub quiz was great. It's dog friendly and welcoming to children until 9pm.

It's a second generation village pub with fantastic food and a few rooms available. Both ladies of the house have been a real credit to the pub, the trade and the village. One is sadly missed, while the other is well respected. It's well worth a visit, though sadly it's now for sale.

We came for a meal last night, and my daughter ordered the curry. I'm sorry, but it didn't taste like a curry to me. It was mostly onion, with hardly any sauce and no flavour, more like onion masala. At £16, I also expected it to come with naan bread, but it didn't.
