Room 9 had lovely original light-coloured beams, a large comfortable bed and a seating area by the window overlooking Sandbach high street. The decor was elegant, and the large shower and all the facilities were spotlessly clean. We started with drinks in the bar, then had a delicious steak dinner with wine in the restaurant. The steak was cooked perfectly, compliments to the chef. Breakfast was a buffet with cereal, fruit and pastries, plus a freshly cooked hot option. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the spot is excellent for shops, little markets, pubs and cafes. We stayed for Valentine's as a romantic break and would definitely recommend it and hope to return.

The Wheatsheaf has a relaxed but polished feel, a bit more special than a typical pub, which makes it a nice choice for a slightly fancier meal out in Sandbach. We've eaten there a couple of times, and the food has been excellent each visit. There's a good range of choices on a well put-together menu, and the quality stays consistently very good. The staff have also always been friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it.
I'm local, so I haven't stayed in the rooms, though they look boutique and good quality, handy if you're visiting family or friends or exploring the area. I used to come just for drinks, but had food there last night for a friend's 40th birthday, a rare evening out, and was really impressed. The pub has had a nice refurb and refresh. The food is good quality, allergens are well catered for, and all the staff were friendly and quick, with nothing too much trouble. There's a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a car park at the rear. The food and drinks aren't the cheapest, but the quality and experience feel worth the price for this kind of pub and hotel. They also have special nights like pie night and a Friday evening Happy Hour that could be worth checking out.
When I came down with a bad cold during our stay, they brought anything we asked for straight to the room. Thank you so much. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. It's a stylish gastropub with rooms in the beautiful village of Sandbach, and both the pub and rooms are tastefully decorated. Our room had a roll-top bath. Highly recommend.
We only had two hours in Sandbach, but The Wheatsheaf found us a table, and the service was excellent, with nothing too much trouble. The upmarket decor gives the pub a sophisticated feel. We had a delicious bottle of pinot noir and beautifully presented duck and seabass. The food was exceptional. Highly recommended!
