The setting is cosy inside, with nice views through the window. Outside, there’s lots of seating in both sunny and shady spots, right on the Esplanade. The service was very friendly. The food was disappointing, though. The menu has plenty of variety, but the dishes didn’t hit the mark. The portions were on the small side, and both the presentation and cooking could have been better. It felt very average, around three-star quality, and rather like Wetherspoons, but not quite as good. For the quality and portion sizes, it was way overpriced. I doubt we’ll eat there again.

We stopped in for dinner yesterday evening and really enjoyed the food. The menu is great, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Prices are a little higher than next door, but you get what you pay for. I’d especially recommend the Toad in the hole. Thanks for taking the time to say hello to our puppy. We’ll be back!

After a dog walk, we stopped in for tea and breakfast and were glad we did. Mark, the owner, was friendly, thoughtful and accommodating. The setting felt welcoming and contemporary, and the breakfast was tasty and gluten free. We’re locals and will definitely return. Highly recommended, and they’re dog friendly too!

We came for the restaurant, not to stay, and the food was amazing. The staff were really friendly and brought us a takeaway box when we couldn’t finish everything. The pizza was great, and they handled our topping changes well. The BBQ wings weren’t quite to our taste, though still nice. The Caesar salad was incredible, and the truffle and Parmesan fries were amazing.

We just wanted a drink and a view, but the only free outdoor table had some dirty dishes on it. An older man, whose picture is on another review, went to clean it. When he asked if we were waiting for the table, he rolled his eyes and flung his arms down. We both thought his attitude was rude and unnecessary. Once the table was cleared, he brought menus and said someone would be with us in a few minutes, but after 15 minutes we were still waiting. We went to the bar next door, "steamer inn," and were served straight away without any attitude. We enjoyed the view there. We felt very unwelcome and don’t recommend this place at all. If you’re not a people person, don’t work in hospitality.
