We all had the Sunday roast, and there wasn't a scrap left. The portions were generous, with a Yorkshire pud and plenty of roast potatoes for each, plus kale, roasted root veg and cauliflower cheese to share. There was lashings of gravy, and we got extra without asking. The desserts were insanely good too, and the service was just as good. We were there for a family celebration. Pawel helped me organise everything, replying to my emails and endless questions. On arrival, there was plenty of parking, and we were welcomed and shown to our table for 11 in a semi-private room. It felt connected to the pub rather than shut off. The place was pleasantly busy, with a good vibe, and it was still easy to hear and get around. The Howard Arms is a lovely spot in a quaint village just outside Stratford upon Avon. It’s exceptionally well run and looked after. Thanks to Pawel and the whole team on Sunday. It surpassed all our expectations. We’ll be back, but make sure to book!

The rooms were lovely, clean and tidy, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was tasty, though our evening meal was the highlight. We started with a wonderful, unusual Mushroom Creme Brûlée, then had superior fish and chips with crushed peas. My other half chose the slow-cooked pork, and we shared a delicious apple mousse. The chef is brilliant. It’s a great inn in a picturesque village, about a 10-15 minute drive from Stratford.

We found this cosy pub in the Michelin guide, and the reviews had us arriving with high hopes. It was really busy on Sunday afternoon, but Tim appeared and showed us to the Garden Room. The room was perfect for us, with a lovely sitting room, a comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. Tim knows the pub, restaurant and local area inside out, and is a real asset to the place. Dinner was exceptional for quality, portion size and value. Our waiter, Mac, was a jolly fellow with great knowledge of the food and wine. His cheerful personality was just what we needed after a long drive. We had to order breakfast the night before, and it was tasty and well presented. We really enjoyed the full English and Eggs Royale. Whether you’re stopping on a north-to-south journey, after good food and drinks, or looking for a romantic getaway, this is the place. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

A busy pub and dining room with a lovely atmosphere, but it never felt crowded. Our Sunday lunch was truly delicious, especially the roast beef and scrumptious vegetables. The beer was well kept, and the service was relaxed, with no rush at all in a good way. Very reasonable for the quality, and clearly a well-managed, typical British pub and restaurant. Thank you, I’ll be back soon.

A lovely lunch in a wonderful venue. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. Service was friendly and proactive, and there’s an excellent range of non-alcoholic beers. The drive through the stunning Cotswold countryside was a pleasure, and parking was easy and felt safe. The wine list gives us another reason to return soon, so the wine lovers won’t have to drive, or we might stay and make the most of the place.
