The room was lovely, clean, and fresh. I'd give the location three stars only because of the parking.

There's loads of handy stuff in the corridor outside the rooms, razors, books, games, sellotape and more. You really want for nothing, and the rooms are great value with everything you need and then some. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the bar prices are good, and the location is great, with plenty of bars and restaurants next to each other. The stairs are very narrow and steep, which wasn't great for an unfit oldie like me. They'd probably be fine if you're young and fit. We haven't checked out yet, but I wanted to write a review already. I'd definitely stay here again. Well worth it.

We were so comfortable we ended up staying all day and night, thanks to the incredibly friendly staff. The bed was really comfortable, and the price was very reasonable for the area. The Grapes was fantastic for our one-night stay before our cruise from Southampton docks. It's on a quiet street lined with bars and restaurants with outdoor tables, which we enjoyed in the good weather. We're already talking about planning another Southampton trip so we can stay here again.

The pub was a lovely stop for us, especially with its Titanic connections. We enjoyed the ciders and Guinness, and the friendly pub cat came over to say hello. Titanic fans may know the story that some crew members were rumoured to have stayed here too long over their pints and missed boarding on April 10, 1912. The dock where the ship departed is a short walk away, though the public can't access it.

Oxford St has plenty of good places to eat, and the cruise terminal is about a 10-minute walk away. We had a comfortable stay in this historic little pub with rooms upstairs. The room was clean and lovely, with a generous bathroom, and Paul, the owner, had provided coffee, a hair dryer and lots of other useful things at an affordable price. The rooms are only accessible by stairs, but the cozy atmosphere and personable bartenders made the pub itself a treat. We loved the nostalgic feel and will be back.
