The room was so bad we lasted about ten minutes before booking a Premier Inn and leaving. We don't expect much when we're away, just somewhere clean and comfortable, but there was no way we were sleeping there. It felt more like an HMO than a hotel. The outside looked worn and neglected, and inside there were awful smells, dusty dirty windows, grimy leather chairs patched with duct tape over large holes, and a damp, mould-covered bathroom that smelled terrible. One of the worst places I've stayed.

Everything we needed was in the room, and breakfast was absolutely lovely. Dave and the rest of the staff were so nice. Thanks, Dave, we'll definitely stay again.

I was shocked by how unwilling one staff member was to help, and ended up going home after two nights instead of the five I'd booked. I'm a wheelchair user and had called the hotel directly to say I was coming alone. The receptionist had said someone would be available to help with doors, but when I arrived, I was told I should have brought a companion and that nobody could assist me. One staff member also said I could stay for only two nights. My holiday was cut short, and the hotel wasn't wheelchair friendly as I'd been told. I've never had such a bad experience at a UK hotel. Please avoid it if you're disabled.

£30 a night gets you a very basic, compact room with clean bedding and a TV. Parking is free. You get what you pay for.

The staff were lovely, and we really enjoyed the breakfast in the pleasant dining room. Our room had a little kitchen area with everything we needed to cater for ourselves, plus a table and chairs where we could sit and look out over kings gardens. The beds and bedding were comfortable, so we slept really well. We'll certainly be back!
