La Trelade Hotel

We really liked the slightly dated interior. It has its own charm and is very well maintained, and the rooms and rest of the hotel were clean. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, freshly made, and pretty well cooked. The man who served us was so kind, and the cappuccino was lovely. Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help. I think the bad reviews are incredibly unfair. We’d definitely come back.

We ate here several times but didn’t stay at the hotel. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and wonderful, helpful staff. Great service.

Aurigny Airlines cancelled my flight to London, so I ended up staying here by accident. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, helping me out in every way they could and making a difficult situation a little easier. I’m so grateful. The price was a little high for me, but given how much they helped, it was worth it. The lasagna was good too.

I booked at the last minute, but I won’t be staying again. The rooms are dated, the curtains had holes, and the towels were thin and hard. There was a line of carpet around the bed where it clearly never gets moved or hoovered. Breakfast felt cheap: a small square sausage and one piece of small bacon. I asked for two poached eggs and was told the second would cost extra. There wasn’t much choice for a cooked breakfast, just a small full English, mushrooms on toast, or scrambled eggs on toast. For £160 per night, that wasn’t what I expected. There was no fruit unless you wanted to peel a banana. Sorry, but you won’t miss me.
