Best Western Garfield House

The front desk service was nice and check-in was easy. I didn't eat at the restaurant, though I've heard good things, and the location worked well for visiting my parents. I've booked again for later this year, but I'm unsure how that will go with the poor soundproofing. I'll update after that stay. Room 27 was basic and dated, though the linen was clean. The single bed was against the wall, so I kept bumping into it, and I could hear the people next door talking through the thin walls. There were only two usable sockets, neither by the bed. The desk was so small I had to move the TV to fit my laptop, and the TV channels weren't working. There was also a keycard left in my room. I thought it was mine, but when I couldn't get back in, reception said it wasn't my card, which felt worrying from a safety point of view.

Dinner and breakfast were both fresh and tasty, and the staff serving them were friendly and attentive. We only stayed one night at the Garfield Best Western Hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and welcoming, so settling in and relaxing was easy. We'd gladly come back and recommend it.

My twin room was clean, warm and comfortable, and the full breakfast next morning was really good. I went for black pudding instead of haggis, sorry Scotland. I was there for an overnight business trip on 3rd Dec 25, and ordered food to my room while I worked. It arrived quickly and was very good. Service was friendly, prompt and excellent. I'd stay again.

The Christmas decorations throughout the hotel looked stunning, and the price was very reasonable. I stayed three nights last week and slept soundly each night in a clean, comfortable, beautiful room. Staff were polite and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. I had a few takeaways delivered right to the room. Honestly, nothing negative to say. I'd definitely recommend it and stay again if I'm in the area 👌
