Cromwell Hotel Stevenage

The wedding venue was beautifully decorated, and staying there for the two nights I attended the wedding made things really convenient. My room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable, with everything I needed, including a hairdryer, iron and toiletries. I also appreciated being able to adjust the thermostat to suit me. The location was handy for shops and Stevenage centre, including the train station, and there’s a car park. My street-facing room did get a lot of late-night noise from local venues on Saturday. It didn’t bother me too much, but I imagine it could be awful in summer with the window open. Breakfast was included, with a good quality choice of hot and cold food, though I had to ask for several missing hot buffet items to be replenished. I also had delicious afternoon tea in the bar on Sunday, and staff gladly boxed up what I couldn’t finish. Staff were friendly, polite and professional throughout. Reception even went the extra mile to make sure I had enough tea and milk. I had a wonderful stay.

The big car park was a plus, and my room at the back of the hotel was fairly quiet. It was large and comfortable, with a good bed. Breakfast was self-service, with plenty of choice, from healthier food to comfort options like eggs, beans, bacon and sausage. A decent hotel.

The hotel and room were nice, but the front rooms have very thin windows and are incredibly noisy. Our party and I were kept awake both nights by loud music from the street, which carried on until 4.30am. If you need a good sleep, don’t stay here. The hotel really needs to improve the soundproofing or avoid using these rooms at weekends. Two nights without sleep is unacceptable.

I was here for a two-day training course and had a comfortable, convenient stay at the Cromwell Hotel, Stevenage. The location is spot on, with lots of good restaurants nearby, and the large car park made things easy. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. My room felt a little chilly at first, but they quickly provided an extra radiator. The bathroom was lovely. I’ll definitely stay here again.
