The people here are phenomenal. During my few days at the Hare & Hounds, the service was second to none. The staff take time to understand you and what you need, and Ian and Jake in particular made me feel at home. Reception were welcoming and proactive too. I asked about a table and they'd already booked one. Rooms are very reasonably priced for this level of service, and the 11am checkout was a nice touch. Breakfast was just as good, with freshly cooked food they were happy to customise, plus a generous cold selection of fruit salad, cereals, and meats. The location is beautiful as well. I can't recommend the place enough. Thanks to the whole Hare & Hounds team, you're all a credit to the profession 🫶🏻

The Magnolia Suite had a Christmas tree, a little festive touch that made the whole stay feel personal and cozy. It was spacious, beautifully styled, and pure luxury from start to finish. The Molton Brown toiletries felt like a thoughtful high-end detail, and the gorgeous hot tub was a perfect way to unwind in the cold weather. Our stay at The Hare & Hounds in Tetbury felt indulgent, relaxing, and carefully thought through. We couldn't fault it, and would recommend it to anyone after a luxurious countryside escape. We'll definitely be back!

We came away feeling judged, unwelcome, and so unwanted that we'll never go back. There were five of us, adults catching up after a small daytime wedding, and we'd arrived at 7pm on a Monday. The bar and restaurant were almost empty, yet after ordering drinks we were squeezed into a side booth. From then on, everything we did seemed to be a problem. We were repeatedly told to be quiet, though we weren't being loud, and staff escorted us to the toilets like naughty children in case we disturbed the other diners, even though the restaurant was empty. When we tried to order food, we were told the menu would be limited because of the chef. That might have been fine, except I'd just seen three men at the bar told the full menu was available. The staff member in charge was obnoxious and made it clear she didn't want us there. Her rude, disrespectful treatment cut our evening short, so we left. Better to go into Tetbury for a welcoming reception elsewhere and let the Hare and Hounds enjoy its pretentious silence. Hideous!

The room had plenty of space, a decent desk, and two armchairs with a coffee table, so at first it seemed fine. I stayed one night earlier in the year and started with a nice welcome from pleasant staff and a warm feeling at the entrance. Finding my way there from the car park was harder, especially in the dark, since the site is sprawling and the signs aren't always clear. Then I noticed piles of dead ladybirds on the floor. The oil heater, fan, and iron were left awkwardly in the wardrobe, though that didn't really affect anything. The iron did matter: its plug was broken and wiring exposed, so I didn't iron my shirt. My room faced the front, where traffic was occasionally too noisy, though mostly not intrusive. The general lack of care in the room kept me from sleeping well, and took a lot away from what might otherwise have been a good stay.

The room was great, and our black cockapoo Lola was with us. The food was good and the wine list was excellent. You get what you pay for, and I was delighted with the stay. Thanks to the Hare and Hounds team, especially the reception lady, whose name I've unfortunately forgotten. She was lovely and very helpful, and I appreciated her kind words.
