We had Fish and Chips and the Sunday Roast with beef, and both were very good quality with generous portions. We’d mentioned my wife’s dietary requirements when booking, and the team handled them professionally. They gave us confidence in the kitchen and its knowledge of the ingredients. Service was quick and efficient, and the sea view was lovely. We had a wonderful meal here on 1 March 2026. Thank you.

Liam at the Port William made our family visit feel special. He was incredibly attentive and engaging, went well beyond what we’d expect, and is a real credit to the St Austell Brewery team. The dogs got plenty of fuss too, and we’ll be back. The food was delicious, with great choice, flavour and presentation, and every course felt carefully prepared. It never feels like a chain when you’re there. St Austell Brewery is doing a great job at the moment, bringing its premises up to a high standard and clearly investing in staff. The people we’ve met have been well trained, professional and full of personality. I hope good working conditions help them stay. Chef Gwill and the team deserve thanks for the meal. I really can’t praise you all enough.

All the staff were wonderful, including the housekeeping team and those we only saw once or twice. We noticed how friendly, helpful and knowledgeable everyone was. The room was excellent and clean, and the food was a real highlight: lovely dinners, good breakfasts including hogs pudding, and the best Sunday roast. We’ve just got home after three nights at the Port William. The whole stay made my wife’s special birthday weekend feel even more special.

We had tea and then lunch. Neither was ideal if you’re keeping an eye on your spending, but both were tasty, beautifully presented and gorgeous. I was a little disappointed that the suet pudding turned out to be a pie, though it was delicious. The setting overlooks the strand, and the interiors are cosy and atmospheric. Staff were friendly.
