The Heritage

The room had perfect views, and the waiters and waitresses were great. I also enjoyed the English breakfast and watching live football. But I wouldn't come back. The pool wasn't clean, the water smelled strongly of chlorine, and the area around it was dirty and wet. Room service was very poor. The rooms were dusty from day one, the carpet was never cleaned, towels weren't changed, and used cups were left behind. They only emptied the bins after I asked. The toilet leaked all week. I emailed the admin, told a waitress, and spoke to the manager after being advised to. She seemed unbothered. A maintenance man came to look and said the leak was coming from the swimming pool, but they still didn't seem concerned. When I raised the room service, the manager asked what I needed. I mean, what does room service normally do? I wonder if all the rooms were treated this way, or if it was because of who I am.

The food was nothing special, and the bar sounded like a crèche. In the room there was just one twin socket, already used by the kettle and TV, so there was nowhere convenient to plug anything in. The extractor fan in the bathroom, a light and the window were all faulty. I reported each one. This was my first and only stay here.

Breakfast had a very good range of options, and the full English was up to a good standard. I really appreciated being lent a USB-C charger, otherwise I couldn't have checked in for my flight.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent. Our clean, comfortable rooms looked out to sea. The beach is close by and town is an easy stroll away. I'd definitely visit again.
