Austen's Luxury Apartments

The poor window insulation let traffic noise carry through all night, and basic things like soap were missing. We found the property unclean and poorly maintained, with tools, renovation debris and rubbish outside the entrance. The sofa bed mattress had obvious stains, was filthy and had springs sticking out, so it wasn’t fit to sleep on. When we reported the problems, the host made excuses instead of accepting responsibility. It wasn’t in a condition I’d consider acceptable for paying guests. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay. Apartment 1 was the dog-friendly one, and it was clean, felt new and well equipped. It smelled fresh, with no trace of previous dogs. Parking was the one drawback: there wasn’t enough room for our car at the back, so we paid £5 a day to use another hotel’s car park. There’s only space for one car per apartment. Apart from that, we loved the place.

We were very grateful they let us bring our small dog to apartment number 5. It was a lovely place and we had a great stay. The reason for four stars is the traffic noise: the apartment sits right on the front corner of Belgrave & Falkland Road, both busy roads, and the noise disturbed us a couple of times. We’d still recommend it to friends and family.

I’ve stayed here in both summer and winter, and it’s a great spot near plenty of shops and restaurants. Having our own allocated parking space was really useful. The apartments are bright, spacious and clean. My husband, our two children and I found it perfect for a family stay.
