Barons Court Hotel

The walls are so thin you can hear every little noise. Around 1 or 2 am, I heard a man and woman on the other side having a loud fight, and it scared me. The TV didn't work, and I couldn't get a comfortable shower temperature, just too hot or too cold. The sheets looked clean, but I started itching in the morning. I didn't find bed bugs when I checked, so I wondered if the sheets hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. I'm sensitive to dirty places and ended up feeling sick the next day. I had booked several days but left after one night. The receptionists were really nice when I arrived, maybe that's to stop you complaining about what's ahead. For the price, I suppose you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want to get sick.

Breakfast was great, which was about the only bright spot. The room stayed far too hot even with the heater off, and there wasn't a fan. I couldn't get the shower to settle at a usable temperature, either boiling or freezing. There was no TV remote or proper desk to work at, and maintenance overall was poor. It made the stay uncomfortable and frustrating. Worst hotel experience overall.

The room is a lovely size and nice apart from a few things. The shower head won't stay up, and the water is either piping hot or freezing cold. I asked reception for an extra pillow this evening and was told there weren't any. The bloke wasn't very helpful, though the girl who greeted me was nice and polite. I'm staying here right now.

Our van, with a motorbike and bike clothing inside, was stolen from the car park on 4 October 2025. Since then, people who've seen us share the theft on social media have told us this place is known in the 'trade'. Make of that what you will. They have cameras on show but no working CCTV, and we were given no refund for the two nights we didn't stay. Would you have stayed another night? The hotel advertises a lift, but don't believe it. Our room was tired and not as clean as I'd expect: dirty window and frame, broken window handles, stained carpet, damaged washbasin, and no pillowcases for two pillows. They think three teabags, three milk portions and three coffees are enough for two people. Check-in before 3 pm isn't allowed, and there's nowhere to wait. The extensive bar? Forget it, my own home bar is better stocked. My partner's stayed in some "right dives" and those looked appealing beside this place. Give it a wide berth. I only gave one star so I could post this WARNING.
