Wilson Arms

We were all on motorbikes, so the sloping car park with loose chippings took a bit of care when parking. There’s also a busy campsite right by the pub, and people come over for food and drinks, so booking a table in peak holiday season seems sensible. We stayed overnight on a Saturday with three friends. The staff were welcoming, the rooms were clean and lovely, and the beds were comfortable. We had dinner in the pub: huge fish and chips, which my two friends said tasted as good as they looked, plus a very good chicken parmo with cheese toasted under the grill, a bit like Welsh Rarebit. There were nice vegetarian options too, and our veggie friend was happy. Breakfast was lovely as well. The woman looking after us was friendly and helpful, even at 8:30 on a Sunday morning. It’s a friendly, well-run pub, and we’ll definitely return.

We’re already looking forward to going back. The pub has a lovely, familiar feel, with friendly staff, fair prices, and meals that taste very good. It’s in the North York Moors Nationalpark, a few miles from Whitby.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times in recent years while visiting Yorkshire with friends and family. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully designed, and they welcome dogs, which is always a plus. Best full English breakfast I’ve ever had, honestly.

The room was spotless and a really relaxing place to come back to after long days out exploring. We felt welcome all week thanks to the friendly, polite staff, and the bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and delicious food. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back.
