We’ve all ended up booking with Travelodge instead. The hotel cancelled our rooms because it was being taken over, after we’d booked and paid to stay next February for a party nearby. Five days ago, everyone in our group was told they’d arrange somewhere else to stay or give us a full refund, and that we’d hear back within three days. I still hadn’t heard anything, so I chased them. They said they’d issued a refund, which could take up to five business days, but they never notified us and didn’t offer nearby alternative accommodation.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and it had a kettle and TV. The water pressure was great too. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There are only about 10-15 parking spaces, but there’s a restaurant next door where you can park overnight without any problem.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times with our three children and have had a lovely experience each time. The family rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. They’ve always gone out of their way to try to arrange a ground-floor room for us, which makes getting in with the pram easier. Looking forward to booking again soon x

The rooms were clean, but they’re really dated and the hotel badly needs modernising. Also, don’t use the reception phone to order a taxi. Ask a member of staff to call one for you. I waited 45 minutes for the taxi booked on that phone, even though I’d been promised a 20-minute wait, and it made me late for my son’s wedding.

There wasn’t a bedside socket to charge my phone, which mattered as I’d been unwell a few days before the stay. The hairdryer was broken and fell apart when I picked it up. There was no breakfast on site either. It was being served a few miles away, but not until 9:30. Not the best. The young man at the desk gave me room 21, then forgot where it was.
