The food and service really stood out, and the whole team, from the front of house to the people waiting on tables, were so professional. We had a lovely stay and will definitely come back. A wonderful spot in the Lake District, and one we’d recommend.

We came back to Overwater Hall for an anniversary dinner, and the cooking was still at a very high standard. The three-course set price was £65. My favourites were the lamb salad to start, the beef fillet for the main, and the chocolate dessert selection, which was the best I’ve ever had. The service and atmosphere were excellent too. Overwater Hall is well worth including on a trip to the Lakes.

The homemade liqueurs and shortbread in our room were a tasty touch. We also found the dining room lovely and the bar very nice. The service was excellent and friendly. Dogs are welcome, though they can’t go in the dining room. If you bring one to dinner, they’ll set up a table for you in the bar. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back.

We felt very welcome, and the owners and staff deserve a big compliment. We loved the atmosphere throughout Overwater Hall Hotel, from the lounge and bar to the dining room and even the stairs. We had dinner there on both evenings, and both meals were superb.

The meal was honestly the best I’ve had in a restaurant. From the moment I walked in, Overwater Hall felt like stepping into an old-world country house, much more than a straightforward hotel or restaurant visit. The staff were fantastic and so helpful, and the rooms are gorgeous. If you’re into country homes, Bridgerton and The Crown, you’ll love it.
