The view was lovely, the food tasted good, and our room was comfortable and well heated. But for £250 a night, we expected much better organization, service and standards. We couldn’t use the pool properly because there weren’t enough sunbeds. On February 14, with the hotel fully booked, management should have had more seating available. We asked for two extra chairs, but the woman at the pool said there was nowhere to get them and to come back later. When we asked her to contact a supervisor or manager, she said they weren’t there and she couldn’t help. The bathroom had no toilet brush, which seems unprofessional for a hotel of this type. Breakfast was very poor too: sliced bread, two kinds of juice, two cold cuts and one tray of croissants. For a full hotel, that was embarrassingly little, and nobody replaced the croissants when they ran out. I’ve stayed in many other hotels and haven’t seen anything like it. I’m not blaming the on-site staff, the issue is with management and organization.

The hotel was comfortable and well maintained, and the rooms, public areas, food, drinks and location were all good. The staff were excellent. There’s significant improvement work happening at the moment, but we still had a great couple of days here. I’d advise anyone with a disability to check with the hotel first, as there are lots of steps and stairs. No one in my party had any disabilities.

We had a great stay and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. The views of the lake are amazing, and the staff are friendly and courteous. The spa was quiet, so we could relax, swim, and enjoy the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi without much noise. Children aren’t allowed after 1pm. Afternoon tea was lovely, and they’ll change the sandwiches if there’s something you don’t like. There’s a fairly good food selection. I enjoyed the flatbread and tartiflette, though the tartiflette had a bit too much cheese. We’ll be back!

For my 25th birthday, we were surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a lakeside suite with a hot tub and stunning views. The receptionist, a man, was warm and welcoming and set a lovely tone. Later, bar staff Carl, Lauren, and Freddie made us feel very welcome and served fantastic drinks. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and I had a brilliant birthday stay. I’ll definitely recommend the place and return.

The location is excellent, and the food was good. We stayed for three nights last weekend and noticed a big improvement since our visit a few years ago. Freddie, Lauren, Carl and Michelle all gave first-class service, and the whole staff were a credit to the hotel. We’ll definitely be back soon.
