Kotel Windermere

We booked directly and got a much better price than through booking/Expedia etc. Check-in was simple, with the room code sent by text beforehand, and there was free parking on site. The family suite was much better than a standard hotel room: two large, stylish, well-equipped rooms with WiFi and streaming services on the TVs, plus a small kitchenette between them with a toaster, fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel has a lovely boutique feel. We'd definitely return.

The rooms were beautifully decorated, with a large, comfortable bed, and the place is well located just outside Windermere town, a 15-minute walk from Bowness-On-Windermere. I loved the keyless setup and no reception, though there is a 24/7 Help Desk. I called because I couldn't work out how to switch off the kitchen light at night. They told me to wave my hand underneath it. Very cool!

Getting around was easy, with a bus stop just a three-minute walk away. The team were attentive and helpful, and I felt safe throughout my stay. They kindly arranged a taxi for my morning return journey when I asked. I really liked staying at Kotel during my Windermere trip. It's in a charming building, and the single room was comfortable and perfectly sufficient. Everything was very clean, including the nice bathroom, and the room had a fridge, basic kitchen equipment and a smart TV. I'd definitely stay at Kotel again if I come back. I absolutely loved my stay and would come back. All the appliances in the room were really useful, and it even had straighteners! I would have preferred two towels, one hand towel and one body towel. Also, the hair dryer had a really sticky residue across the buttons and handle, which was an unpleasant surprise.
