Lakeside Hotel & SPA on Lake Windermere

Dear Manager at Lakeside Hotel & Spa, I wanted to bring a few housekeeping issues to your attention. When we returned from our day trip, the bed had not been made, the bathroom basin had not been cleaned, and the floor had not been vacuumed. I’m mentioning this in the hope it helps improve standards at a hotel with such a convenient location and lovely atmosphere. We have otherwise had a very pleasant stay. Room 52. Dr Jani

We’re all vegetarians and ate at the restaurant for three nights. The staff were very flexible with the menu and generous with the butter for the homemade bread rolls. Rob and Inam were especially lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast and dinner staff were a real highlight. The hotel also has great transport links for exploring the Lakes, along with good facilities for a more relaxed stay. We’ll be back…

We had a lovely overnight stay and slept so well in the comfy bed, with a wonderful lake view and complete quiet. The restaurant food was delicious, breakfast the next day was great, and the spa was beautiful, spotless and fresh. A big thank you to all the staff, especially Pip at check-in, who was kind, professional and friendly, just perfect at welcoming guests. Richard in the restaurant was really friendly and had a great sense of humour. So did another tall guy from Rochdale, though we didn’t catch his name. Thanks for a lovely stay. We’ll be back. The food was the one part of our stay that let us down. We tried breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea, and unfortunately none of it tasted nice. The outdoor lodge was well worth choosing, though, and waking up to those lake views each morning felt peaceful and special. Lakeside Hotel is comfortable and very conveniently placed, with a regular boat service that made it easy to explore different parts of the lake. A lovely base for getting around, but the dining could use improvement.
