We had a relaxed evening catching up with my local relatives at The Bay Horse Inn. We hadn't been in a while and didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be straightforward pub food everyone enjoyed. The service was friendly and efficient, with staff checking in as the evening went on. The drinks were well priced and there was a good range. We finished with tea and coffee, and the coffee was good enough that you could do worse if you fancy one. Nothing was mind-blowing, but it was all nice enough for us to order dessert. The lemon posset was light, and the person who had the cheesecake liked it. We started with ham hock terrine, garlic and chilli prawns, and pork croquettes. For mains, the steak and chips was cooked as requested; the fish and chips, fish pie, beef burger and buffalo chicken burgers all hit the spot. It feels like The Bay Horse Inn takes pride in getting the basics right, leaving flair and fancy touches to others. A great place for an easy meal with family or friends, and we'd happily return when we're in the area.

We had a party of 16, and everyone's meal arrived together and on time. Every one of us loved the food. The atmosphere was amazing, and all the staff were warm, friendly and professional. Just the most welcoming local pub. Well done guys, this is how it's done.

We came as a family for Valentine's Day and had a fabulous meal. The welcome was really friendly, and the hearty food was very reasonably priced. We shared a goat's cheese and scallop starter, then a tomahawk steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were too full to eat the cookie dough pie, so took it home to share with the brownie. Yum. Thanks all, we'll be back!

We had a lovely meal with family and our dog Meg. The waitresses were very pleasant and helpful, and we were greeted and shown to our table. The food was very nice and, although it could have been hotter, we enjoyed it overall.

Brett and Bronte have recently taken over this pub, and it's just what our village has needed for a long time. They're a hard-working couple with lots of ideas, very approachable, and the place welcomes children and pets. They've got a lot done in a short time. The pub could still use some refurbishing inside and a tidy-up around the outside delivery area, but with time this will be the place to be. The reviews of the food have all been great, the new chef is doing a good job, and the staff are very friendly.
