The Residence Jaipur

We had lunch earlier with our toddler, so didn't try the restaurant, which opens at 5, but the menu looked very tempting. For breakfast early on Sunday we went to Beefeater, though there are lots of cafes in Easingwold too. The family room was large, warm and had plenty of space, with a kettle, bottled water, bathroom essentials, TV and towels. The only drawback was the entrance stairs. It's just off A19, and we'll come back to try the restaurant.

We've been trying for more than a week to get the invoice for our stay, but nobody has been able to provide it. I politely explained that we need it for the booking. At first we were told it would be sent by email, but after seven days there's still no invoice.

The room was a little tired, especially the bathroom, but it was still safe and comfortable, and a real bargain for a York visit. We paid under £80 for the night and were just a few minutes outside the city. The beds were super comfy, the towels plush, soft and absorbent, and they left bottled water and a huge fan in the room. There was also a food menu if we wanted to order. The place is above a nice Indian restaurant. We drove to Flamingoland the next day, which took just under an hour.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant downstairs was brilliant. The rooms are basic, with essential amenities and prices to match. The hairdryer had not been PAT tested since 2017 and stopped working. The bed was uncomfortable too. We only stayed two nights, and the room did what we needed.
