Wingate By Wyndham Abilene

Marty was great, and so was the staff. The hotel was amazing, breakfast was awesome, and my room was clean and cozy. I like to sleep in a cold room, and the AC unit definitely worked. I'll always choose this place when I visit Abilene. Ten stars from me!

We'd stayed at the Wingate in 2013, when it was very nice, but it needs a facelift now. Our room needed a deep clean: the carpet, drapes, mirrors, and lamps were all filthy. At least the bedclothes were clean, and the price was low.

The staff are friendly, and the housekeeper is friendly too and does a decent job. My room was clean, and the few problems I had were handled right away. The carpets need cleaning, but I still felt good about staying here. Breakfast was good as well.

The lobby was clean, nicely decorated, and the front desk staff were friendly. But the room wasn't being maintained well, which is why I can't give it more stars. The carpet was stained and rippled, the chairs were stained, and there was still something spilled on the desk chair. Half the bathroom threshold was broken away, leaving sharp pieces that are a real hazard. Hair was stuck to the dryer, held there by old hairspray, and lint had filled the vent, a fire hazard. Breakfast was very limited, and the room only had hand towels and washcloths, so you have to call the front desk to get full-sized towels for a shower. It's a shame this relatively new property isn't being managed well. I posted three pictures of the problem areas in my room #110.
