Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Meadow Lands

The room was fine overall, though several TV channels didn't work. The staff were extremely kind, and breakfast was still provided, but it moved to a different place each morning. There were far fewer choices the second morning, and the chairs were very dirty. The hotel was under construction during our two-day stay. There was a paint bucket and a full trash bag in the hall the whole time, with duct tape on the door frames marking work in the rooms. The lobby was entirely a construction zone. We often had to wait to get through a doorway or use the elevator while workers were tearing up the tile. A large tarp ran through the lobby to the entrance, leaving very little room to walk. I wish they'd closed to finish the remodel instead of doing the work around guests. If you're planning to stay soon, I'd call ahead and ask if construction is still going on.

The room itself was fine, but there was only one TV channel. You could only flush the toilet if nobody else was flushing the toilet in the same area. My daughter stayed in a motel with us for the first time and was disappointed. There's no snack machine, the soda machine is on another floor, and you have to go to a different floor for ice too. They're under construction and don't mention it on their webpage. There's no workout room, and the pool isn't equipped right now. We were charged a $75 deposit and had to pay $137 just for the room, despite not being able to use the pool or gym. I was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially when for ten more dollars we could have stayed at the casino motel.

I brought swimming gear for nothing. The pool and hot tub were closed for remodeling, but the website said nothing about that. When I arrived, they said they couldn't reimburse me for those amenities. The best they offered was two of their newly remodeled rooms. The hotel itself was good, but at least update the website.

I'm a Diamond member and felt like a client at the Motel 6. At checkout, the clerk asked how my stay was. I said it wasn't good, and got crickets. I asked if she was serious about asking, then explained that a hotel representative had told me I'd get one of the remodeled rooms. If this was remodeled, it was bare bones. The carpet had been replaced and the bathroom tile looked new, but the furniture was worn and the bed wasn't firm. The vanity was cocked sideways, the tub was horrible with cracks filled with putty, and there were two distinctly different hairs. The shower curtain had a burn hole, and the sheer window curtain had pasta sauce stains. I could go on. The clerk assured us the manager would call. No phone call, no email, nothing. Crickets!
