We'd arranged rooms for our trip, and my friend gave his credit card to secure them. But when we arrived, nobody came to the front desk. We waited about 15 minutes, pressed the bell, and got no response. We called and left a message, then heard that same message playing on the lobby answering machine. We figured nobody wanted our money and left. Thumbs down for this place.

The rooms are tiny, about 12x11, with two beds crammed inside, and the beds are hard. Showers look old and dirty, and there's no way to adjust the room temperature. The whole former nursing home building is noisy and echoes badly. A lot of the room photos online don't match rooms that exist here, so I took and shared actual photos.

The person at the desk was rude. I made a reservation, then called two hours later to cancel because I hadn't finished my job in Abilene. They said the 24 hour cancellation policy meant they wouldn't cancel it.

For the price and the options around, this motel seems like a good choice. The rooms are fine for staying in, and it was a pretty good motel.

The parking lot is great for pulling over and making a phone call. I never went inside the hotel.
