Motel 6-Albuquerque, NM - Coors Road

We lasted less than ten minutes before getting out of there as fast as we could. The mattress was stained, with only a dirty top sheet on it, and the pillows had no cases. Leaves and dirt covered the floor. There were no bathroom towels or TV remote, and light fixtures and other room parts had been ripped off the walls. Drug addicts and vagrants were all around, and I didn't feel safe even walking outside alone. The most disgusting and sketchy hotel I've ever seen. It doesn't deserve one star.

We had to switch hotels for the last week of our stay. I need to keep my kids and me safe, and Motel 6 didn't feel safe at all. They claim to have 24-hour security, but there were lots of drug deals, drug users, and homeless people around. One person even offered me a room for $10. It took three rooms to get one that was at least somewhat clean. The first was occupied, and the second was dirty. In the third, we had to go ask for towels, there were no washcloths or trash cans, and luckily I'd brought trash bags in the car. There was no TV remote, and the office couldn't provide one, just excuses. We found a needle tip that must have been under the bed, and only one of the three lights worked. Some outlets didn't work either. With the kids, I'm glad we didn't have to spend the whole day in the room.

We booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled of cigarettes. The sheets had cigarette holes, there were no towels, and the housekeeper's laundry cart was left in the first room we saw. The front desk was kind and canceling was easy, but it felt like the staff didn't care.

I booked this for my mom while she was driving home, and now I feel bad I didn't want her sleeping in her car. She said there were tons of strange, sketchy people around and no towels. The door wouldn't open, so she got another room because the AC wasn't working in 100-degree weather. That second room's door wouldn't lock. I should've read the reviews. This sounds disgusting and totally unacceptable, and worse than sleeping in the car. Awful. Stay away if you can.
