Budget inn

The room was spacious and clean, and even the mattress was decent. The area was quiet, which made the stay pleasant. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice. We only stayed one night, but we'd do it again.

The door was so covered in dirt or fingerprints that it wasn't even white anymore. The rooms were dingy, dirty, and dusty, with no coffee maker, and the beds felt as hard as the ground. I wanted to leave, but my husband was exhausted after the long drive, so we stayed. I shudder thinking I spent the night there.

My parents stayed here often without any problems, but after what happened, they will never return. I went to rent a room for someone less fortunate, and at first I was told there were single rooms available. When that person walked in, the manager at the counter rudely said there were no rooms. He profiled them because they looked less fortunate than either of us. We don't agree with discrimination or support it, and that's exactly what this was.

After we got to our room, my girlfriend and I lasted about an hour before we were too uncomfortable and left. We got no refund or compensation, but there was no way we were staying all night. We'd booked the place to visit family in Pembroke, and a couple of hours later the man at the hotel said he'd given our king-bed reservation to someone else. When we arrived at Budge Inn, the place immediately made us feel uneasy. The beds were hard, the walls looked like someone had just painted over cracks, and there was no shampoo, only tiny bars of soap. The man we spoke to on the phone had been rude and unapologetic about giving away our reservation. I wish I could give the place zero stars.
