Nativo Lodge Hotel Albuquerque

I appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Check-in was very easy. The spacious room was comfortable, but felt a little dated. My main complaint was the lighting: there wasn’t enough indoors. There was plenty of natural light, but opening the curtains cut down on privacy quite a bit. It was a pleasant stay overall, with a few small things that could be improved.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the towels smelled nice. We had a private balcony with a lovely view, and the fridge worked really well. There were quite a few TV channels, the AC was perfect, and the area felt safe, with lots of food and stores nearby. The staff were great, too. At night the room was dim, since there was only one lamp. The internet wasn’t very good, and having only a bathroom mirror made it hard to put an outfit together. We’ll probably stay here again next time we’re in Albuquerque.

Getting to the hotel from I-25 was easy, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. The staff were very friendly. Gardunos looked closed, but it was open and the food was good. I had one of the artisan rooms and liked how it looked, but the shower had a problem. I fixed it myself and told the front desk, along with the fact that we needed towels because we’d used ours to dry the bathroom floor. Maintenance checked the shower later that evening and said it was fixed, but there still weren’t any towels. After dinner, we came back and had to ask the front desk again before getting some. The TV selection was limited, and it would’ve been better if we could connect a streaming service like Netflix.

I’d stayed here before and was always happy, but this time I booked through trivago and the charges were confusing. I arrived at 1 pm and asked if a room was ready. They had several available, but still wanted a $20 early check-in fee. I’m disabled and didn’t really have a choice. That had never happened before. I checked my bank account and saw two charges for different amounts. The extra charge meant I couldn’t use my debit card for breakfast. The desk clerk said she didn’t know I’d already paid for the room and told me the charge would drop off in 3-10 days. The next day, another $44.26 charge showed up. When I called, she said the $20 was for early check-in and the other amount was a resort fee, which I’d never been told about. Wow is all I can say.
