Along our Highway 101 coast road trip, this place worked well for a stylish, contemporary coastal stay with our small dog. There’s plenty of sunshine and nearby beaches, with a private terrace where I could have coffee or read. The room had thoughtful touches, from the touch-light mirror and wall-mounted beauty mirror to the yuzu mint conditioner. It felt designed with women in mind. My significant other brought me green tea in the morning and took the dog for a romantic stroll. There are lots of dining options nearby, from fresh seafood off the pier to tacos. We appreciated the welcoming valet service. Thanks especially to Wiley for nearby recommendations, and to the charming, clever, funny, and respectful woman at the front desk. A few ideas for the future: a cozy corner with a dog bed, a step for the little one to get on and off the bed, a removable screen to keep flies out from the balcony, better noise control at the back window by the valet lot, a door stop for the heavier doors, and more luggage space. A hook for bags and hats by the table or some extra wall space would help too. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The rooms are comfortable, the outdoor areas are fun to spend time in, and the staff are really friendly. Riviera Beach House has a relaxed, easygoing feel and is a great place to stay in Santa Barbara. You’re right by the beach, with everything within walking distance. I’d definitely stay again.

Our family came for a short vacation around a wedding in September, and there were 25 of us in seven rooms. We had an amazing time. There are patio areas for people to gather, which was especially nice since the rooms are comfortable but only sleep up to four. The hotel had two wine and sip events while we were there, and it’s very pet friendly. First-floor rooms have patios for pets or people. The location is great: two blocks from the beach and walking distance to downtown, Funk Zone, and the Aquarium. It’s next to the train and restaurants, but things quiet down by 10 p.m. The service was wonderful. My son lost his beloved stuffed animal, and the receptionist went dumpster diving to rescue it. That meant the world to us. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Our first visit to Santa Barbara was from Las Vegas, and we’d certainly come back. The hotel is small, very clean, and so well thought out. The little lobby is lovely, with fresh lemon water, delicious coffee, and a nice smell. The sheets were super clean, and our room had a little patio, which was a great bonus since we had two little senior dogs with us. Jennie checked us in and was so friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of restaurant suggestions. One, the Cruisery, turned out to be our favorite and is super dog friendly. Too bad they’re closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The valet guys were friendly and really helpful too. The train goes by the hotel a few times a day, which was charming, and the noise didn’t bother us at all.

Natalie made our stay so much better. She was professional, kind, and very accommodating, and helped sort out an issue we had. Best front desk person ever. I wish every front desk had someone as great as her. Thanks for making our stay so lovely.
