This place has gone downhill badly since I stayed two years ago. The room felt old, dirty, and neglected. There was someone else’s hair on the shower wall, and the carpet had what looked like burns or something. The iron didn’t work. I wouldn’t put my clothes in the drawers because who knows what’s in there, maybe droppings. The bed was uncomfortable too. That was my last stay here.

We arrived after driving for hours with our three children, one of whom has autism, and the whole experience was terrifying. First, we couldn’t get into the building we were supposed to be in because of a key card problem. Once that was sorted out, we were given the wrong card. The room we’d booked already had two people in it, lying on the bed when we opened the door. That violated both our privacy and theirs, and the gentleman in the room legally carries a weapon, so we could have been in real danger. The main areas look beautiful and clean, but the rooms are dirty. There’s a kind woman at the front desk, though she kept saying she didn’t have much power in situations like this. I hope they compensate us appropriately.

Avoid booking this hotel on 12/23. My last-minute room was disgusting, smelled awful, and didn’t feel safe. It hadn’t been cleaned, there was hair on the bed, and the smell of fresh food made it seem like someone had just eaten in the room. I nearly threw up, left right away, and asked for a refund. The front desk said it couldn’t be processed until the manager came in the morning, but it still wasn’t handled after I called the hotel and central reservations. Don’t stay here if you want a healthy stay. As of 02/07, I still hadn’t received the refund or a call from the manager. When I called that day, they told me to call back Monday. Sonesta customer service said they couldn’t help because this location is privately owned and operated.

The woman who checked me in was very sweet, and she was the only person wearing a name tag. I didn’t catch her name or know if she was Italian. That was the good part of this stay. I was in room 130, building B. The hall looked dated, and the room had several problems: the dishwasher wasn’t secured to the wall and moved forward when opened, the kitchen sink was falling into the cabinet, and the stove exhaust fan didn’t work. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and there was hair in both the toilet and bathtub. Later, my partner found a cockroach in the bathroom. When I got up to shower, another one came from the shower head. The blue-haired woman at the desk showed no concern, as if roaches were normal there. I asked for a refund and showed her photos and a statement showing three attempted charges. She blamed the system, and acted as though the charges were normal. I was never charged in the end, but I wasted points that I should have gotten back. When I called Monday morning to speak to general manager eric, the woman who answered was rude and said, “He’s here, just not in his office. I don’t know what to tell you.” Renovations are needed, and pest control needs to exterminate the place. You put lipstick on a pig here. I didn’t want to post a review or blast the hotel, but people deserve to know. Roaches are there. Beware and be careful. Do better. This is disgusting. 1 star.
