Anacortes Ship Harbor Inn

Devon was genuinely sweet and helpful, and the location is beautiful. Beyond that, we left disappointed. Our room had a strong chemical smell, maybe Raid or a bug bomb, though I’m not sure what it was. We paid $165 and only found out after leaving that rooms are around $100. There weren’t really amenities or frills, and when we checked other options, we saw nicer, newer places with amenities for the same price or less. Someone’s comparison of paying Hilton prices for a Motel 6 really stuck with me. We felt overcharged for what little value we got. I hate writing a review like this, but I have to be honest. We wouldn’t return, even though Devon was so kind and helpful.

The cabin gave us a spacious layout, easy parking, and a clean, comfortable bed and linens. Staff were friendly and helpful, too. We knew it was a little dated and chose it for the quiet setting and lovely water views, with ferries passing by and deer outside. There were cleanliness problems, though: pet hair and crumbs, sticky patches on the table, a greasy handprint on the bathroom window, and a tissue tucked under the bedroom door. Because of that, we won’t book a cabin here again, though we might try a non-pet-friendly room. We don’t usually leave negative reviews, but wanted to share what we found.

We stayed in one of the little cabins, and the front window looked toward the ferry dock about a quarter mile away. Watching the ferries come and go was lovely. There are cabins, regular hotel rooms, and lots of space to walk around. The rooms are older and affordable, but very well kept. Such a great location.

We loved the small-town feel, and being near the ferry terminal made it easy to explore San Juan Island. The view was breathtaking, and the staff were so friendly. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with two cozy beds and a useful kitchenette. Our family had a fantastic stay at Ship Harbor Inn!
