Dimond Center Hotel

A quiet, comfortable room for two, with plenty of parking and a great bathroom. The tub was nice, though I wish it had been a jacuzzi. The location is premium, and getting to the airport is a breeze. I slept well before my departure. Breakfast fell short of what I expected. I'm not fancy, but I'd want more than just an omelet.

For $335 a night, I expected a lot better. The room was large, but that was about its only plus. There was very little counter space, the pillows were poor, and the bed wasn't comfortable. No air conditioning, either. They gave us a fan for the window, and it clattered all night. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The room faced a dumpster where people smoked, instead of the beautiful mountain view visible from the lobby. The tub was huge, but who uses a hotel tub? Yuk. I didn't try breakfast. The desk staff were nice, but a maid walked in while I was in my bra and underwear. It was early, and we hadn't checked out yet. I didn't hear her knock. No AC was already a deal breaker for me, and that made the stay worse.

The free shuttle was really handy, and this place is right by Walmart, the mall, and banking. It's a clean, quiet hotel with friendly staff. I fly up from Kodiak to catch overseas flights, so I usually arrive very early. I used to stay at The Lakefront, but it's really gone downhill in recent years. Glad I found this place.

The rooms are huge and clean, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It seems to sit in a shopping area. This isn't a luxury property, but for a hotel in this class, it's an absolute value.
