Hampton Inn Anchorage

Alaska Airlines put me up here after my flight was delayed, and I had no complaints. The location was nice and the shuttle service was solid. I didn't catch the front desk guy's name, but he was really kind and helpful. He deserves his flowers.

I paid $200 for a room with no hot water, then had to shower in another room. I also missed an early morning meeting. No one at the hotel seemed to care much. The place is a dump and has not been remodeled recently. Stay far away.

I stayed four nights, and the room wasn't cleaned or ventilated once. The window wouldn't open, and by night four I was out of towels and shampoo. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee or water in the room. When I paid to add a fifth night at reception, I explained what had happened and we clearly agreed the room would be cleaned the next morning. I came back around 2 PM and nothing had been done. Different staff members asked whether I'd requested “full service.” I said I just wanted the room cleaned and the towels and sheets changed. They told me to leave nothing on the bed and assured me they'd take care of it. That evening, the room still hadn't been properly cleaned. Only the small floor towel had been changed. I'd left the other towels on the floor so it was clear they needed replacing, but they were untouched. At checkout, after I raised it all again, all I got was, “Oh, sorry.” Very disappointing.

My wife, son, and I had a great time at this hotel. Everyone on staff was respectful and friendly, and they were quick to help with what we needed. This was an easy five-star review to write. I highly recommend them.
