Sou'wester Lodge & Vintage Trailers

I came in my own van and worried the mud might leave me stuck. It did, but on the beach, not at The Sou. When I called the front desk, they were just about to give me the number of someone who could help when a stranger offered to tow me. The Sou was there for me when I needed them. I wasn't sure I'd like the place, but I was impressed by the pleasant surprises around the property and how clean they kept the bathrooms. Better than some fancier places I've been. If you're unsure like I was, give it a try.

I've stayed at the Sou’wester four times now, and we're already planning another trip before we even get home. This visit, the trailer I'd rented had a smell that gave me a headache because of my many allergies and sensitivities. The front desk person kindly and quickly moved us to a really cool bus and waived the room change fee. We came to relax and enjoy some quiet, so I appreciated their understanding. The little details in each space always delight me. Everything feels thoughtfully done, and most spaces welcome dogs, so we can bring our babies. And I always seem to spend a good chunk of change at the Thrifty thrift store trailer. Worth it every time.

It was our second stay at the Sou'Wester, and even lovelier than the first. We came in mid-January to a very sleepy, quiet campground, just what we wanted. Staff were friendly and accommodating. They surprised us with flamingos outside our trailer, a birthday card for my partner, and a chocolate bar. Be sure to make use of the sauna!

Seaview is such a delight, tiny and cozy, with great entrances to the area's beaches. It's also really unique. We've stopped going to Seaside because it's gotten too big and lost much of its quaint feel. The Sou'wester is always an awesome experience for us. We like trying a different trailer each visit, and we've stayed in the Lodge too. Service is friendly, and the staff are VERY accommodating whenever we need help. We've brought other people along and tell everyone about the place. If you're out there, give it a try. You'll be glad you did!
