Comfort Suites Anderson-Clemson

The staff at the front desk apologized and offered explanations, maybe a renovation was planned, but that didn't excuse the condition of the rooms. We needed somewhere local for a few nights while work was being done on our house, and we've been Choice members for a long time. Standards at Choice hotels seem to keep dropping, and this place was in poor shape. We checked out the Hilton Garden Inn across the interstate and will stay there tonight. It doesn't offer free breakfast, but the breakfast at this Choice Suites wasn't very good anyway. Very disappointed. The first room had tub drain stoppers that didn't seem to be installed or work, and the drain flange wasn't properly attached to the tub floor, so it could have leaked into the room below. In the second room, we were tired and put up with several problems: a dirty floor with crusty bits we could feel barefoot and Jolly Rancher wrappers by the couch, a coffee-like stain on the wall, a torn curtain, a toilet roll holder nearly falling off, another poorly working tub drain, a bent ironing board, and a fridge with a huge buildup of ice. The owner seems cheap and unwilling to pay for proper upkeep.

I was only there briefly, but Anne deserves a big thumbs up. She looked professional, was attentive, and gave outstanding customer service. Thank you, and I hope to see you all again.

The rooms were clean and cozy, and the hotel manager was a sweet, helpful person. It was a great stay, and I'd recommend it.

Everyone on staff was very friendly, and we enjoyed the living area because we could set up the baby's pack and play without being cramped. We stayed for an extended weekend and appreciated that breakfast was served later than at previous hotels, so we could actually eat. I paid on hotel.com, but they required a deposit. That was fine, except they wouldn't accept my Chime bank card or my Cash App card, the only other one I had. We had to find an ATM and take out cash, then wait after checkout for them to inspect the room before returning the deposit. I was also told when booking that we'd have a shower and tub combo, but the room only had a standing shower. It looked nice, though my baby wasn't used to showers and it was a little inconvenient. He managed after the first day. The glass shower door kept opening while I was showering, leaving the floor wet and making me cold.
