Quality Inn & Suites Anderson I-69

A lovely woman checked us in, but we found signs of bed bugs when we checked the mattress, something we always do because we’ve dealt with them before. The manager took about ten minutes to come down, then followed us to the room and suggested the marks around the mattress edges were smeared food rather than blood. She offered a refund right away, so she clearly knew what it was. Really disappointing. Bed bugs are bad enough, but it’s worse when a hotel won’t acknowledge and fix the problem.

The rooms were as clean as you could expect for an older hotel, and I’d stay again. The pillows need to be real size, though, and the mattress should be replaced. My wife spent the night in a sunken spot and could barely sleep. I also found a fifth of Captain Morgan in the freezer, so housekeeping must not be checking everything.

For over $100, I wasn’t impressed and won’t come back. The floor dipped in several spots, and the mattress had a worn-in hollow where people seem to have slept, so you roll into it. Tiles were loose by the doorway and across the bathroom floor.

The hot tub stayed closed all weekend. On Sunday morning, I came back into the building and saw a woman collapse in the breakfast area, with obvious drug use going on. Then we found bed bugs, and these are some of the bites on my son’s hand. The manager said someone comes to spray once a month, but a guest had complained about bed bugs in a review just a month ago. If they were spraying regularly, I wouldn’t be dealing with this now.
