Western Motel

We were only there from 1am until 7am, between our flight and the first graduation ceremonies, because we wanted to see our son graduate. There was nowhere else available, so we had no choice but to stay. The room usually goes for $80-90 and seemed on par with that price, maybe lower, but we had to pay $160. The whole experience was disheartening. We’re a hard-working family struggling like so many others, and we just wanted to be there for our son. Greed culture is disgusting. This was unacceptable.

I made a reservation using my debit card, then called a month later to confirm. They had no record of it. There was no apology and no effort to sort it out, just another rude customer service experience. Now I’m watching my debit card statement like a hawk to make sure they don’t charge me for a no-show. Save yourself the grief and don’t call this hotel. Honestly, I suspected the place was bad during my first call: they answered “hello,” and I had to ask whether I’d reached a hotel.

I woke up with bedbugs crawling on my body in one room, and there were bedbugs in two of the rooms we stayed in. I have three other people who witnessed them. I have photos, and their metadata shows they were taken in your hotel room. I’m willing to share more pictures. Dealing with the bugs took mitigation time and money, and the experience was deeply uncomfortable. Now I’m scared of staying anywhere for life. The two elderly people at the hotel didn’t speak any English, so they had to call their daughter to translate. She didn’t believe us about the bedbugs. I never spoke to whoever responded to my review. The other people with us said housekeeping turned off their AC and turned on the heat full blast while they were gone, despite daytime temperatures in the 90s. Heating the room is a bedbug treatment, kind of, so it makes me think the bugs were a known issue. I hope Linn County, which is your inspector, does something. Are you denying what happened, despite the photos? Thanks for running such a ‘clean’ establishment and taking responsibility for your actions.
