La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio Airport

The breakfast was the same watery eggs and sausage every day, and the elevators were filthy. The pool area, though, was clean, as was the laundry room on the eighth floor. The check-in staff were incredibly friendly, but the manager gave me the impression he didn't care that we were unhappy. We were there five nights. In the first room we found two tiny roaches, hair under the bathroom counter that housekeeping left there even after we asked them to clean halfway through our stay, and popcorn all over the pullout couch sheets. After the second roach, the desk clerk suggested I speak to the manager, saying he took these matters seriously. I made a point of finding him when he arrived, but he didn't introduce himself and just asked what we needed. He had us move across the hall, then left and never came back. He didn't apologize for the dirty room or the hassle, and seemed annoyed I'd raised it. A housekeeper showed us into the new room and handed over a key. There was still hair all over the bathroom floor and a squashed bug that hadn't been cleaned up. I won't stay here again or recommend it.

Alex at the front desk made a great first impression. He was patient, warm, funny, and welcoming, and kept on top of things without getting flustered when a line formed. I'll remember this place for future trips through the area. There was a gate and a security guard, which made me feel safer when I arrived. The room was well kept, the shower had hot water right away, and there were plenty of pillows and towels. One of the better La Quintas I've stayed at.

We like the location and the staff are friendly, but the room stayed uncomfortably warm throughout our two-night weekend stay. The unit was very noisy and seemed to only blow air. I set it to 60°F, the lowest option, with the fan at its highest speed, and noticed no real difference. This has happened on earlier stays too. Everything else has been good, but ineffective air conditioning really affects how comfortable the room is.

Mrs.Rosa was amazing, and the staff looked after me and my guests really well. I run events around texas and booked 4 rooms here over the weekend for my family and guests. Everyone liked their rooms. They're comfortable and budget friendly, and the staff were accommodating. I know some people say they're rude, but I think attitude toward them can matter too. We had no problems. The elevators are a little beat up, but they work, and you're not sleeping in them. If that bothers you, pay more for a Hilton or Marriot. Breakfast and coffee were good, parking was spacious and felt safe, and security patrolled the lot. It's pet friendly too, and my dog was comfortable. Of the hotels around here, this is the best in my experience. I'll keep doing business here.
