The room conditions were already upsetting, and the way Erika treated me made the stay worse. After I attended a family member’s funeral, I was switching rooms when she came to my door in jeans and sneakers and banged on it loudly. She raised her voice to ask how much longer I’d be, saying the room had been ready since 12:30 PM. I calmly told her I’d be done shortly, but she kept pressing me in a badgering tone. I ended up closing the door because the exchange was so uncomfortable. The reason I needed to switch was that the pull-out couch and comforter set had visible urine stains and a strong urine smell. I reported it right away and was told to speak with the manager, Erika, when she arrived the next day. She did very little to fix the problem, and her manner was dismissive and rude. I felt treated as if I were the problem, rather than a guest dealing with unacceptable, unsanitary conditions. This was especially upsetting given the circumstances of my visit. Cleanliness, professionalism, and basic courtesy should be standard, but I didn’t experience any of them. I won’t return or recommend the hotel, and I hope the matter is taken seriously so another guest doesn’t go through the same thing.

After a long day of travel, the clean, quiet room was just what I needed, and breakfast was good too. Mandy checked me in with a warm welcome and seemed genuinely happy to help guests feel at home. I had a great stay and would gladly come back or recommend the place.

Cayman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room felt like a nice one-bedroom apartment, and the location puts you close to all kinds of shopping and restaurants. Great hotel!

The sheets in my room were dirty, with visible stains, and the room smelled as though someone had been in it before me. I only noticed the sheets when I pulled them back late at night. Still, I can see myself staying here often because this seems like a solid option among the nearby places, many of which are more like motels or a Holiday Inn. The Residence Inn by Marriott in Anderson, SC, looks clean, modern, and well kept from the outside, and I hope housekeeping handles these problems consistently. Its location and appearance keep it in the running for my regular stays.

The pillows are the main letdown. They’re flat and limp, and not much use if you sleep on your side. The little market on site has fewer choices than at other Residence Inns, though with free internet running around 65-70 mbps, ordering Uber Eats and forgetting the market is there is easy enough. I stayed two years ago, and the place still looks just as beautiful. The grounds and interiors are kept so well they seem Instagram-ready all the time. It’s in a handy spot for travelers, with quick interstate access and plenty of shopping and dining nearby. The parking lot is well lit and feels secure, which is reassuring when you’ve got luggage. Or a suspiciously comfy mattress you’re thinking of sneaking out with. Kidding, mostly. That mattress is hard to leave in the morning. Crisp linens, fluffy towels, good water pressure, and an A/C unit that stays quiet while keeping the room icy cold made for a really comfortable stay. It’s a beautiful, secure place with fast Wi-Fi for streaming, Zooming, or online shopping at dangerous speeds.
