Motel 6 Arlington, Tx – Entertainment District

This place keeps getting worse. They charge $100 for parking but only tell you after you book, then won’t let you cancel. Just be upfront about the fees. They also say daily housekeeping isn’t available, though staff can bring fresh towels, remove trash, or replenish other in-room supplies if you ask. Their message says the goal is to keep everyone healthy and protected and invites guests to call 0 from the room phone if the team can help.

There was an event on the weekend I booked, and after my reservation they more than quadrupled the nightly rate. They then canceled because they hadn’t managed to raise the price before I reserved. They called it a price glitch, but to me it was obvious price gouging. The cancellation confirmation said “Change of Plans.” Gross behavior. I booked somewhere much nicer and paid in advance so my room couldn’t be messed with or “glitched.”

The one thing this place has going for it is how close it is to the stadium. I stayed for the Big 12 Championship game and knew a cheap hotel wouldn’t offer premium service, but this room wasn’t worth even the lower price. There was pee and toilet paper in the toilet, the sheets and comforter were covered in stains, and I wasn’t confident they’d been changed. The bathroom was falling apart and didn’t feel sanitary. I’ve stayed at other Motel 6 properties, and none were this bad. Bring your own bedding and disinfectant.

I’d read the reviews before booking, but I’m glad I came and saw it for myself. My room’s very clean, including both beds and the bathroom. No fridge, but otherwise it’s a great place. MC at the front desk gave me lots of details and helped as much as he could. I’m loving the stay so far, and the location right across from Cowboys Stadium is amazing if you’re a fan. I’ll come back.
