Motel 6 Arlington, TX

Room 102 at Motel 6 of Arlington was a terrible handicap room for disabled guests, and I won’t be back. Half the lights didn’t work. The bathroom light was fine, but the one nearer the wall barely worked after fiddling with it for a while. The bed was comfortable, and the security deposit is only $25, which is a plus. I didn’t see roaches, though I can’t speak for other guests’ stays. The air conditioner does work, but it only blows on the right side. My wife and I had to tape it with duct tape. The tub looked dingy, though the shower had good hot and cold water. You’ll want to wear shoes in it. Things felt like they were breaking or about to break.

After 30 years as a public servant helping strangers stay alive, I came across a homeless woman in the cold rain on Saturday, March 7. She was hungry, so I offered to pay for a nearby hotel room for the night. When I called, the representative said booking a week would get a better rate. I thought she could use time to rest, paid $500, and she went to her room. In the meantime, I found her a permanent place to stay. When I returned Monday to pick her up, I asked for a refund for the remaining five days. They refused without showing any concern about why I wanted it. She told me the room was very dirty and full of bugs. The staff were rude. Don’t waste your money, go somewhere else.

I paid an extra $35 for late checkout at 2 p.m. after staying Monday through Thursday, October 13th-16th. Still, they kept telling me to leave, first at 1:30 and again at 1:45. The manager came to my door at 1:52 and said I had to go. I paid for good service, not to be pushed out early.

The front desk service was awful. I went to pay for an extra day and the woman first quoted $85, then offered $80, even though the rooms are only $54. When I asked for a receipt so I could get my deposit back, she kept saying someone would be there. I needed proof I’d paid. The toilet wouldn’t flush, either. Rude place, stay somewhere else.
