I had a terrible stay. My room still wasn’t ready when I arrived at 6 pm, there was no hot water, and nobody had told me the hot water heaters weren’t working. The shower head didn’t work either. The bed was as hard as the floor, the toilet seat was dirty, and there was dirt and debris all over the floor. There were no curtains to block the light, and someone’s dog barked all day one day. I work nights and only stayed because the winter storm made it possible for me to get to work and back all weekend. The plow drivers even pushed snow over my vehicle where I’d parked, and I had to dig it out. When I raised the hot water and shower problems with “Jeff,” he said there was nothing he could do. I work in a hospital and just wanted a warm shower and a soft bed, but got neither. Worst hotel experience ever.

Roaches were everywhere, crawling on the walls, floors, and counters. I had to keep my dishes, silverware, and unpacked things in the refrigerator and freezer to keep them from getting infested. To me, this is a health and safety issue, and the property wasn’t being maintained to a reasonable standard. I don’t think anyone should have to stay in those conditions, and in my opinion health and safety authorities should inspect it. The management was just as bad. The woman who said she was the manager, a blonde who lives on the property, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She talked down to guests, then called people “honey” or “sweetie” as if that made her behavior okay. My experience was absolutely awful.

There’s plenty to do within walking distance, and Miyabi, the sushi restaurant right next-door, is one of my favorites. The manager was super helpful, the customer service was spot on, and the rooms were clean. One of the best overnight stays I’ve had in a long time. 10 of 10 recommend!

I had to leave after two nights of what was meant to be a month-long stay. There were cockroaches, the bathroom smelled like something had died in it, and the mattress slip had urine and footprints on it. Housekeeping came back to clean the room and they sprayed for bugs, which was nice, but a hotel should never have a problem like this in the first place. The staff and management were extremely kind and tried to make a bad situation better. The manager was patient, though I completely disagree with not getting a refund given everything that was wrong, especially the roaches. I think these problems came from a poor owner. No owner who cared about the building would tolerate even half of what’s wrong. With the tools they needed, I believe the employees and management could have handled things. Nobody mentioned the owner. That’s just my personal opinion.

Everything else was a good experience, but Jeffery was really mean. He’d yell at us over little things. I’d recommend a new front desk dude!
