We stayed two nights with our dog while visiting from out of town. For the price and location, the hotel was ideal and met our expectations. Breakfast was good, though I'd like to see gluten-free bread, toast, waffles or muffins, a milk alternative, and sugar-free juice. Everything else was great, but the staff could put more effort into customer service. At our 10 pm Friday check-in, the young woman at reception was carrying on a personal phone call, which made me feel she wasn't focused on guests and their needs. The woman in the kitchen had no personality. Those details matter a lot to me. I didn't take away any stars because the rest of our stay was so good. A smile and a little extra effort go a long way. Thanks for a nice stay.
The rates were reasonable, the bed was comfortable, and the coffee was good. Breakfast options were sparse, not even up to Hampton's poor standards. The elevator sounds like it's about to give out, and the whole hotel is due for a refresh. I'm grading with the low rate in mind. Would I stay again? Maybe, though I'd consider paying more somewhere else.
The breakfast setup was frustrating: the area was dim, the tables weren't clean, and one morning I put my arm in syrup. Plastic utensils were the only choice, which was awkward to use and not environmentally friendly. There was no non-herbal tea for me as a non-coffee drinker, even after I asked on the first morning, despite a grocery store in the nearby shopping area. Other problems piled up too. Housekeeping entered after our first night without warning, though signs said rooms would be cleaned every third night unless requested. The sheets didn't fit deeply enough and came off all three nights. Two of the four bathroom lights were out, and I heard another couple mention the same issue. The women's first-floor public bathroom had an empty tissue box, and nobody replied to my chatbot messages. To top it off, some guests let their dogs pee on the entrance flowerpots or building. Ugh, no respect.
The rooms were clean and service was okay, but breakfast wasn't good. If you're a light sleeper, the hotel is right beside a major highway and gets pretty noisy. The pool and patio were nice and well decorated. We stayed at this chain twice this week, both times below average, and won't be booking with them again.
The rooms were clean and the hotel was nice, but dogs left alone in a room barked all night after about 8 pm. Around 8:30 I told the front desk clerk, whose response was terrible. She offered no help, was extremely rude, and lied about having rooms available. She said the hotel was sold out, but a supervisor told me the next day that 17 rooms had been open. The supervisor also said that same employee had been involved in other recent complaints. We didn't sleep and nobody helped, so I asked for a refund. They returned the pet fee instead, and general Manager Andy Brown apparently told the staff that was enough. Andy Brown had a chance to speak with me but chose not to. I'll be disputing the charge and hope the employee's and GM's incompetence is addressed.
