Embassy Suites By Hilton Asheville Downtown

We came for an event and got to try several parts of the hotel, including the meeting rooms, bar, meals, and our room. The room was lovely, thoughtfully furnished, and I was glad there was an extra blanket for those of us who get cold easily. Breakfast is worth making time for, especially the made-to-order omelets. Lunch was great too, with churros that were the best I’ve ever had. Such a lovely weekend.

Soprana Rooftop Cucina had great views and very good food, and Arianna at the bar was professional, friendly, and made the visit memorable. The rest of our stay was just as good. My wife and I had a spacious, very clean room that felt like home, and the breakfast omelet station was a favorite. Everyone we met was attentive and genuinely kind. We’d gladly return for the food, comfortable room, and warm service.

The corner suite was huge and comfortable, and I loved the view. Breakfast had lots of choices, including pancakes, and the happy hour drinks were made just right, with snacks too. My one suggestion is to have some way of keeping people in line at the bar. Groups were crowding around it, which made getting a drink frustrating. The hotel itself is beautiful and smelled clean as soon as we came in. Everyone was so nice, including Cassidy at the front desk, the valet team, and Phil at breakfast. I’d recommend it and hope to return.

Soprana is the standout for me. The rooftop restaurant has terrific views and a gorgeous sunset when the timing works out. It’s a pizza place, which sounded a little unusual at first, but the quick service, range of pies, and good cocktails make it worth visiting even if you’re not staying here. The hotel itself feels much more modern and well appointed than most Embassy Suites, with a big lobby and several places to eat. Staff were friendly, valets quick, and the rooms had what we needed. Breakfast was well organized, and the sausage and white cheddar omelette special was fantastic. Happy hour was packed on Thanksgiving night and took longer than I expected, though the bartenders said they hadn’t anticipated the crowd. I paid a little extra for an old fashioned, and it was worth waiting for. The fitness room looked new and spacious, though I didn’t use it. There’s no hot tub, which I would have liked, but my kids loved the indoor pool and could burn off energy even with it 20 degrees outside. We’ll be back.
