Hilton Garden Inn - Asheville South

Everyone I met at the property gave top-notch service. A special shout-out to the whole Grille restaurant crew, especially Vanessa. Starting the day with those happy, smiling faces was such a joy. The property was excellent!

The room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable king bed, great pillows, and a nice work surface. The bathroom was small but clean, and the shower was great. The lobby is open, with dining space and tables. Taylor greeted us warmly, and check-in was easy. We added breakfast when we arrived, since it wasn’t included in the base price. It was worth it for the convenience and the excellent cooked-to-order meal, which wasn’t a typical buffet. Vanessa was accommodating and handled a couple of special requests really well. I’m an early bird and like to work at a table, so I was disappointed coffee in the lobby didn’t start until 6 a.m. I need coffee 24/7. There’s a coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge in the room, though. Then around 3:30 a.m. I was in the lounge, which is normal for me, and Jessie came over to say coffee would be ready in a couple of minutes. She didn’t know how to make it, but the kitchen staff arrived and brewed a fresh pot by 4:30. Now that’s five-star service.

I came from Florida with just my dog to see the Biltmore, and this location worked perfectly, about 11 miles away. There are outlets across the street, plenty of food options nearby, and a cute farmers market down the road. I traveled alone and felt safe, with parking right by the door. The front desk was welcoming, the decor was nice and cozy, and my room was spotless and super comfortable. My little dog was happy too. It’s very dog friendly. I didn’t eat there, but the dining area looked lovely and had a good menu. I wish the weather had cooperated so I could enjoy the spectacular fire pit and outdoor lounge area. There was also a little snack shop with refreshments, chocolates, chips, and more. At 47, I found it budget friendly but still really posh. Hilton has my business now. Bye, DoubleTree. We’ve stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn many times over the years, and it’s easily the best HGI we’ve experienced across the US. Every staff member we’ve met has been great. Robbie, Keith, and Laura at the front desk deserve a mention, along with Renee and Navy in the bar and restaurant. The food is very good, better than at any other Hilton property we’ve visited. The seasonal choices for breakfast, dinner, drinks, and even dessert are outstanding alongside the regular menu. We always look forward to coming back. Thanks for making our visits so great!
